May Madness
This month has been crazy busy with the Grand Opening on May 3rd of our Calmar Medical Building. We were so blessed to have Mayor Yachimetz, Kathy Murphy and the Town Council join us in the celebration along with the beautiful voice of local artist Taylor Faith, and the wonderful Keller Construction team, including our favourite superintendent Courtney Johnston, who was instrumental in making our dream of the building a beautiful and timeless reality.
On May 10th, I had the pleasure of speaking about Ten Cents A Pound at the Spruce Grove Rotary Club. Arlaine Monaghan, the president Christian Findt and their members were all so supportive because they knew proceeds from sales of the book go to the Children of Vietnam Benevolent Foundation.
On May 11th, just before Mother’s Day, Rod Kurtz from CBC RadioActive invited me into their studio to discuss the story behind Ten Cents A Pound. I was grateful for the opportunity to speak about the sacrifices mothers make for their children.
And lastly, on May 15th, I and my sisters, Theresa & Michelle Zyp, celebrated the life & legacy of Hank &Tillie Zyp with the Grand Opening of the Zyp Art Gallery in Calmar. I was so moved to see so many people join in this special celebration. We are grateful to the performers Carrie Day & Tim Koslo for bringing their soulful music to the celebration, Kari Scott’s Versus Cafe & Catering Co for spoiling us with delicious appetizers, and, of course, Jaime Rathor for being our amazing curator. Many thanks also to the team of Change for Children foundation and the Rainbow of Hope foundation for being a part of the evening.
