Global Gathering for Sponsorship

2022 Dec 2 – I feel very honoured and humbled to be invited to Madrid, Spain by the Global Refugee Sponsorship Initiative (GRSI) and Amnesty International to be the Keynote Speaker for their 2022 Global Gathering for Sponsorship. I am in awe of the amazing Jennifer Bond and her incredible GRSI team. I’ve never met a more dedicated, committed, hardworking group of humanitarians working relentlessly to help refugees around the world. It was such a heartwarming event led by the absolutely wonderful Colm O’Gorman. Fourteen nations came together to share ideas, learn from each other, and inspire innovations in the global community sponsorship movement. The best minds in the world on community sponsorship was in the room. I hope my words reminded them of how beautiful they are, in their kindness, passion, and compassion for humanity. These amazing individuals are literally changing the world!
I was so touched seeing all the delegates at the 2022 Global Gathering for Sponsorship, hosted by the GRSI and Amnesty International, in Madrid, Spain receiving a copy of my book The Doll, illustrated by the amazing Ravy Puth. The thought of the delegates bringing this book home to their respective countries (14 different nations) warms my heart so. To know that children/families/people around the world are literally reading this story humbles me so. I hope the story inspires them with the fact that a small act of kindness in a moment in time is never forgotten. It ripples forth beyond our doors, across the sea, and through the generations.
