I was overwhelmed with emotions recently when I sent this little doll (and a photo of myself from the refugee camp) on her journey to Halifax to be a part of an exhibit on “Canada’s role in the refugee movements in the 20th century” at the Pier 21 Museum between March to November 2018. This doll given to me 38yrs ago is a symbol of all that is good and beautiful with humanity. Those who meet her in Halifax next year will know that she is the story of how Canada forever changed the lives of so many.
