Words cannot express how honoured and humbled I feel that a quote from my 2017 Keynote Speech on Resilience is engraved on the medallion that amazing Foundation Scholars at Western Michigan University will wear at their graduation each year. It moves me thinking of how the students have taken my words to heart: “Have hope and you will be inspired, be courageous and doors will open, have grit and you will succeed, be kind and you will know love.”
