I’ve never had a father. That shaped who I am and who I’ve become. It is so humbling to be able to establish the Gauthier & Tran Endowment in Medicine to support medical students to perpetuity in honour of the one father I hold in highest regards, Father Gauthier. Sadly, dementia has overtaken Father and he is under the care of caregivers in a nursing home. Hopefully, this Endowment will remind us all of Father’s legacy, and that is, the hope and freedom he gave my family.
The first recipient of the Gauthier & Tran Bursary in Medicine was awarded spring 2022.
